Founding Care Manager

San Francisco Bay Area (hybrid preferred)
Full-time
Equity ownership + competitive salary

About the Company

Havencare is redefining in-home care for aging seniors. We're a mission-driven startup helping families find, manage, and retain high-quality caregivers. By combining human empathy with smart technology, we make senior care more consistent, trustworthy, and transparent.

The Role

We're looking for our first Care Manager — a critical hire who will partner closely with the founder to shape how we serve families and support caregivers. This isn't just a care coordination role — it's an opportunity to co-build our service model, influence product decisions, and make a real impact on the lives of seniors and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both families and caregivers, handling onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing support
  • Act as a trusted advisor to families, helping them feel confident and cared for at every step
  • Monitor care quality and proactively address concerns with the goal of retaining happy, supported clients
  • Match caregivers with clients based on skill fit, personality, and availability
  • Build relationships with caregivers, ensuring they feel valued, heard, and set up for success
  • Surface patterns in what makes matches successful and collaborate on improving matching processes
  • Be the voice of our customers and caregivers, capturing feedback and identifying pain points
  • Work closely with the founder and engineers to shape the tech roadmap and test new features
  • Help build scalable systems including process templates, playbooks, and tools for care delivery

Required Qualifications

  • A compassionate, mission-driven operator who loves working directly with people
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • A bias toward action and comfort with ambiguity — you'll be helping define the role and evolve it over time
  • Strong emotional intelligence — you know how to read between the lines, handle tough conversations, and build trust

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in care coordination, case management, gerontology, or social work
  • Experience working with aging populations or caregivers
  • Familiarity with home care licensing, scheduling, or software

Success Metrics

  • High customer retention and satisfaction rates
  • Increased caregiver engagement and match success
  • A strong feedback loop that influences product decisions
  • Playbooks and systems that set us up to scale care operations

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity ownership as an early team member
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision
  • Hybrid work schedule with autonomy and flexibility
  • Direct collaboration with the founder on strategic decisions
  • Opportunity to grow into leadership as we scale
  • The chance to shape the future of home care and build something meaningful

Why This Role Matters

This is not just a job — it's a chance to help shape the DNA of a company that deeply values care. As our first Care Manager, you'll lay the foundation for how we deliver quality, trust, and peace of mind to every family we serve.
